So today has been a BUSY day. I worked out on the elliptical for as long as Christian permitted (20 minutes), then Christian, hubs and I headed out to take a walk, little did I know that walk would consist of walking up STEEP hills. It was definitely a work out but nice to be out with the family, getting some exercise in. We don't take walks that often so I hope to do that more since I enjoy it. :) We ended up seeing a lot of kitties, one lady we saw had about 4-5 of them outside her house in the garage area. They were all just hanging out and Christian was so excited to see them. He kept trying to get near them and kept saying "cat" lol. It was so cute. I am definitely getting closer and closer to getting him an animal. I kinda want to wait till we get back to the states (about 9 months from now) but I'm still tempted to get one while we're here. I just hope I don't end up with a psycho dog or cat that ends up attacking him or something. I'm thinking maybe getting a puppy or kitten would be the best bet so we don't end up with an animal that was abused previously and that would be more likely to strike.

In other news, I'm hoping to get back into going to church. It's been a while since I attended church. The last time I went to church was right before I left Arizona to come back here to Okinawa which was about a month and a half ago, almost. I'm hoping to find a decent church around here so hopefully I'm able to! I gotta do some research online and see what I can come up with. Then I'll be headed to bed to finish up "Quantum of Solace" with husbee and then I'll be off to bed!

<lj:music>my husbee putting sodas in the fridge lol.</lj:music>

So as I was putting laundry in the washer I didn't realize I had failed to make sure the washer's door (or whatever you'd like to call it) was all the way up. It came crashing down on my middle finger and OUCH! It hurt like hell. :( It hurt so bad it felt like it was broken. Luckily I was able to keep my pain quiet enough so I wouldn't wake my just put down for a nap little one. He's still, surprisingly, sleeping peacefully.

In other news, I finally took my Japanese driver's test. We've been stationed here since January 2007 and I've been here for 1 year and a half and I just NOW get my Japanese license lol. I was so terrified to drive over here, it's completely different then the states which is what I'm used to. Over here you drive on the left side of the road and your steering wheel is on the right side of the car so it's definitely A LOT different than what I'm used to. Now let's hope I can make it safely to and from base (at least) lol. I live about 30 minutes away from base so it's definitely not a quick drive. I'm going to have to suck it up though and deal with it, especially since my husbee will be going on tdy next month and I'll be all alone for a little bit with my boop. Definitely NOT looking forward to that for more than one reason. :P I'm sure I'll survive though, at least I hope!

    <lj:music>The hum of the computer</lj:music>

This is my first entry here on LJ.

My name is Melissa, I'm 22 years old, I'm a wife to a U.S. Army soldier and I am a mommy to a 20 month old rambunctious little boy! I currently live overseas in Okinawa, Japan and am REALLY looking forward to going back to the states. I miss living there soooooooooooooooooooo much! I like to spend my free time (which I don't get a lot of these days ;)) reading, writing, singing, listening to music, watching awesome shows (Dexter, Desperate Housewives, House, Heroes) on t.v. (or should I say internet since I don't get those shows over here in Japan), shopping, working out, taking walks. Where you can find me during most of the day is with my son and my husband (when he's not working of course). I'm a stay at home mom and have been for almost 2 years now (crazy how fast time flies!) and I will be starting up college again very soon (definitely excited about that!) I'm not COMPLETELY set on what I would like to do for the rest of my life but I'm thinking something along the medical line, possibly. As of right now I have my mind set on Pharmacist but we shall see. I tend to change my mind frequently. :P

Anywho, if you feel like adding me, please do so! I may or may not add you back though.
